The idea for “Kinodrom” is born in the time of the realization of another cultural project, based on an European thematic – “An European summer in images”, which was organized by the association “L`Ost Paris” and took place in Berlin in the summer of 2004. The success of this project encourages two of the members of the organization to continue on this road – an itinerant, gratis cinema, traveling in Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey, from Budapest to Istanbul.

The project is led by the association “1 Chemin, 2 Traverses” and is made with the cooperation of different local organizations. The project aims at presenting to the population in this states-members or future members of the European Union european cinematographic works from different genres. The projections will take place not only in the big cities, but also in the small towns – the goal is to give the opportunity of poorer and more isolated parts of the population to watch this films. They will be presented on a screen in the outside. The duration of “Kinodrom” will be three months – from the 1st of August till the 1st of November, 2005. The program of the films, which will be presented has a variety of proposals on different themes and is conformable to the cultural and socio-economical characteristics of the different countries and regions which will be visited.
