The short cut is freely inspired to the photographic suggestions and the facts narrated in Derek Jarman’s movie “Caravaggio”. This is the starting point for the plot, concerning the peculiar life of the artist and his painting production. The light designed on stage is directly inspired to the mood of his masterpieces. “Anima Viola” (Purple Soul) as been shot on sound stage from 25 to 29 January 2005, with a unique roll of film and the technical means given by the Scuola di Cinema, Televisione e Nuovi Media di Milano.

I accomplished univeritary studies at D.A.M.S. in Bologna, where I majored in theatre. Since I was very young, I had the most different working experiences and, through long travels, I met differents coltures, especially in Center America.
After several years dedicated at musical studies (I used to be a trumbet player) I decided to get involved full time with my everlasting passions: cinema, photgraphy and painting. Through those arts I developed a peculiar sensibility in image and communication.
In 2003 I discontinuously worked as assistant editor and photographer in the fashion field.
Since 2004 I work for Mpweb, a section of Mediaset that deals with video editing of sport events such as Italian soccer A Series championship and European competition.
I just achieved a professional certificate at the Scuola di Cinema, Televisione e Nuovi Media in Milano, as cameramen and cinematographer. School offered me the opportunity of several different experiences, partecipating in the accomplishement of TV format, commercials, documentaries, short cuts. I achieved many tecnical skills within the art of cinematography, camera operating, directing. I also realized many short cuts, both with digital tape and with film.
Within the Scuola del Cinema I cooperated as cinematographer and cameramen to some short cuts:
“Peccato” (16mm), 2004;
“Via da qui” (mini-DV), 2004;
“Ore 11” by Vanja Pavlovic, (16mm), 2004;
“Un’esile incrinatura” by Thomas Tezzon, (16mm), 2005;
“La Superficie delle cose” by Dario Antonioli, (miniDV), Documentary, 2005;
I also cooperated as cameraman for the following theatrical performances:
“Come gocce su pietre roventi” by Ferdinando Bruni, Teatro dell’Elfo (Mi) 2005;
“Nome di battaglia Lia” by Renato Sarti, Teatro della Cooperativa (Mi) 2005;
As long as indipendent production is concerned, I was cinematographer for the following short cuts:
“Tram” by Marta Boni, (mini-DV), 2004;
“Corvetto solo andata” by Matteo Andreolli, (mini-DV), 2004;
“Dipende da te” by Simona Manfredi, (mini-DV), 2004;
Produced by the Scuola di Cinema,
I eventually realized the direction, cinematography and camera work for the short cut
“Anima Viola”, (16 mm), 2005.
I’ve just finished the direction a spot for the concourse Beck’s Urban stories.
Since May 2005, as assistant to Ercole Visconti, I’m teaching university classis at the Politecnico of Milano. The class’s goal is to analize the cinematographic language through the study of the image.
