Synopsis: Near Christmas day, two young Muslims, sitting with their back in front of the camera, are watching a crowd buying presents. Every night, Hassan and Mohamed are wondering without any goal through the streets of Brussels. During their night walk, they’re leaving the strict Islam traditions of their home and try to enter the occidental world that is, in the same time, so close and so far from them… Frustrated, The only refuge to assert is Islam, But the confrontation of religious dogmas and the world around them generates violent contradictions…

Stephane Bergmans

Born in Uccle(Belgium), on August the 13th, 1982. In 2000 he entered the Institut des Arts de Diffusion, Louvain-La-Neuve, to graduate cinematography.

He directed:
2003 «Elsa» (Documentary)13 minutes
2004 «Errances» (Documentary)12 minutes/ as a graduation film.

Selected in « Premiers plans d’Angers 2005 » festival During his studies he was two times first assistant director on short fiction films, he also managed the production of documentaries.
