THE MOST FUCKING STORY IN THE WORLD / ÍÀÉ-ØÈÁÀÍÀÒÀ ÈÑÒÎÐÈß ÍÀ ÑÂÅÒÀ

June 2004 / 5 mins 40 secs / Colour / Betacam SP

National Academy for Theatre & Film Arts
Sofia, Bulgaria

THE MOST FUCKING STORY IN THE WORLD explains why I can’t write stories anymore.
Because our little beloved Bulgaria doesn’t care about culture, all it needs is listening to vulgar “chalga” music and waging its stupid war in Iraq.
Because rabbles of thievish illiterate people with power destroy and ravage the country for the sake of their own well being, and force us to live in poverty.
BECAUSE WE HAVE BEEN LIVING FOR 15 YEARS PUTTING UP WITH IT.
Will this ever end?

TANGENTS / ÄÎÏÈÐÍÈ ÒÎ×ÊÈ

June 2004 / 27 mins / Colour / ÌiniDV

National Academy for Theatre & Film Arts
Sofia, Bulgaria

This documentary film is showing the links between two very different cultures - far East - Japan and the Balkans - Bulgaria. They are four - a Bulgarian girl who is studying ancient Japanese language and mythology; a Japanese budistic monk, sushi master, who is trying to teach Bulgarian people the ancient Japanese traditions; a Japanese girl who is teaching the calligraphy; and a Japanese boy who came to Buigariajust to learn to play our traditional instrument - gajda.
From Japanese to Bulgarian language, from sushi to gajda and from calligraphy to Cyrillic alphabet - it looks like there is nothing common. But is it really so - see the film and you may reconsider this statement...
