Is this a Start of a World Tour for "The 48hr Film Challenge"?

Since its launch in August 2002, Johnnie’s 48-hour film challenge has involved close to 10,000 filmmakers in the UK and Europe. And he’s not finished yet. Oddball’s next challenge will be run across Europe.
Johnnie set up the 48-hour film challenge to get people out there making films, instead of talking about it.
The first event, publicised only on Shooting People and launched and managed with a self-funded budget of £200 and with no sponsorship support, attracted 60 entries and culminated in a packed screening event.
Two more events followed over the next year, including the National 48-Hour film challenge, which generated 460 films over two days made by 4500 filmmakers and cast. For the National, Johnnie added a couple of rules to maintain quality and drive the learning process. Each team must have six identified members, each with a clear task. Director, Producer, Camera, Lighting, Sound, Editor. By creating structure and limiting the amount of ‘Cooks’, he found the results even more impressive when teams where up against the clock.
With the launch of the PARIS 48hr film challenge in Oct, and the last ever London UK 24 hr film challenge 18th 19th sept 2004, Johnnie is excited by the prospect of running the Challenge all over the world in 2005, the consept is simple. Teams receive their challenge and must produce a 5 min film within 48 -hours handed to them to make their film. The best films produced in the events around Europe are added to a DVD, which is sent to festivals all over the world to promote the film makers like never before.
To inspire others inspire's me.
