Genoveva
Dimitrova is one of the leading Bulgarian film critics.
Born in Pleven. She graduated Russian philology at SU “St. Kliment Ochridski”
and Filmscience at NATFA “Krastyo Sarafov”.
Since 1990 she is editor “Film” at the Kultura weekly newspaper, where
she leads the column “At first sight”.
She is author of hundreds of publications in the public and specialized
press. Her first book is "Cinema at the end of the century / Bulgarian
figures and feature films a look from the 90s“ (1999, “ÅÀ”publishing).
Since 1995 she teaches “Film analysis” at the New Bulgarian University
and is member of the editor council of "Studies" magazine, published
by NBU. Since 2003 she is leading a course of lectures “Let's think cinema”
at the MA program at SU “St. Kliment Ochridski”.
Member of the Union of the Bulgarian Film Makers, Union of the Bulgarian
Journalists and of FIPRESSI (The International Association of Film Critics).
PhD at the Institute of Arts Science – Bulgarian Academy of Science.
