Other Skills: The event was called the National 48 hr Film Challenge 2003, The event produced over 460 / 5 min short films in just 48 hours and had over 6000 film makers taking part from all over the UK including Wales and Ireland. The event was created to promote new talent from all over the uk and it did just that and more , The event was there to kick the British film industry up the ar’se and show the world that we still have real talent in the uk . Now film makers can enter their films into festivals all over the world. “I feel proud to be part of an event which was run for film makers by film makers, My event's are their to inspire others . This is what Digital Guerrilla Film Makers is all about Some of the films made have gone onto win at film festivals. Getting film makers some real contacts and helping them see that you can learn more by exp than from qualifications ,You can't learn film making from a book alone ,Only real exp and hard work will help you become a film maker ,learning the hard way by getting out there and learning from your mistakes ,This is the best education ,Which you can never get from any film course “I wanted to promote British film makers and show their real talent to others , Giving them content which they can now enter into festivals all over the world..” |
||
Additional Information: I didn’t train as a director
or as a producer or as a events creator, I learned the hard way by getting
out there and doing it from the bottom up, From working on catering
vans to being a runner for free ,Just to be on a film set was everything
to me,It felt like coming home being on a film , I set out to help others
as i was never given that chance as a young film maker,I wanted to be
the 1st person to not think of my ego and help to inspire others in
the art of film making , HelpIing them gain experience behind the camera
and helping to promote real talent, |
