Following the success of creator Johnnie oddball event ' 48hr Challenge in 2002 & His 2003 National 48hr Film Challenge which was launched at the Edinburgh film festival, London's Mayfair Curzon, Manchester's AMC multiplex cinema and the Watershed cinema in Bristol.
In just two years the events' Have produced over 600 short films and promoted over 4500 film makers ,
Making cinema history in 2003 for the most film productions ever made in just 48hrs across the whole of the UK.
Johnnie went on to produce his 1st dv feature film (The dark hunter) which he wrote cast filmed and acted in which cost him just under GBP500.
He also produced his own tv show on sky called (oddball tv ) Which had over 2200 viewers each week ,
The program was their to promote British film makers on a TV , Johnnie Screening films from 2002's events and 2003.
Johnnie also created the digital guerrilla film makers network which he founded in 1999. D.G.F's first event was a screening and networking group based in clapham called (film club uk) 2000-1 The bash happened once a month at the Scene venue in clapham. At the events film makers and actors linked up and made contacts for future productions and also had the chance to screen.

Те трябва да съдържат напълно монтирания филм с авторска музика или музика с авторски права; в началото трябва да са изписани имената на екипа и заглавието на филма, както и темата, а на финала се изписват имената на членовете на екипа и актьорския състав, както и email-адресите – и всичко това в рамките на 5 мин, ако е възможно, моля...

What is the 48m Hour Film Challenge?
It's your chance to stop talking about it and get off your arse and go make a film!

You will have just 48 hrs to complete a short 5 min film, real Guerrilla style whatever it takes attitude, no rules, just film it and run like hell. Teams must then return the completed film to the venue from which you collected your title. All creativity-writing, shooting, editing and adding a musical soundtrack-must occur in just a 48 hour.

What are the films about?
That's up to you - each team must go with the genre for their movie at the drawing before the start of the competition. In the past, genres have included: mockumentary, comedy, horror, romance, mystery, western, musical, Drama and spoof, to name a few. In addition, all teams are given a theme and title, which they must turn into a real film in just 48hrs.

Who sees the films?
The films are screened in festivals all over the world - some have even won major festivals. Of course the filmmakers, actors, family and friends are there to support the premier of their work. But also it there to get you seen and hopefully inspire you to go and make even more and more!

Everyone wants to see what everyone has done and you learn from each other. The event has a creative energy only filmmakers can understand.

Who are the filmmakers?
The 48 Hour Film challenge is open to all filmmakers, pro, novice & first timers. Rules state that all team members (crew and cast) must be volunteers; actors need to give their consent in writing to the director before they start shooting. Most teams have in the past consisted of filmmaking professionals and teams who have done these events before which is great for 1st timers as they meet them and can ask them questions they would never have been able to ask before. We have attracted some real talent on both sides of the camera over the years. One film won best short at the London Film Festival 2004 and 2003 winners from the 48hr event are featured on the CHANNEL 4 WEBSITE.

How long are the films?
The films must be a min max 5 minutes long which including titles and credits. (Tighten up those films, and editors - cut in camera to save yourself time, improvise and be guerrilla. Now get out there and film something!!

What cities has the 48 Hour Film challenge visited?
The project began in the curzon cinema in london , in 2002, and last year we visited 4 major cities LONDON - MANCHESTER - BRISTOL- EDINBURGH. This year, we've added more cities including one of our first European event held in Berlin in may 2004 & in Balchik, Bulgaria in Sept 2004.
